Whew, this heat is wearing me out. Are you going to Florida this summer? I tell ya, I’m not a big “cook in the sun” person – I love the sand, but I need some shade while I’m there.

If you participated in my first ever “Dots Diner Gives Back” favorite charity contest on Facebook, you probably saw who won. But in case you missed it…drum roll please… The big winner and recipient of the $2,500 first prize is the Humane Society of Louisiana, followed by Friends of City Park and Café Reconcile. Rounding out the list is Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans, WWOZ 90.7 FM New Orleans, and New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity. In total, I gave out $4,500 and I couldn’t be happier to give it to these incredible groups. Thanks y’all for voting!
