BOOM! I just love Independence Day and I’m still smiling thinking about those fireworks last Thursday night. I must admit; I do wish it was cooler out there and I’m already lookin’ forward to the fall.

So, what have you been doing this summer? Have you gone on vacation? Or are the kids driving you crazy yet? One of my secrets to making summer extra special, is serving apple pie a la mode or a root beer float on a hot afternoon. Sometimes I’ll splurge and have one after lunch and the other after dinner. These longer days make time appear to stand still. With the extra daylight, I can get so much more done each day. I also love to cozy up on the sofa with a good book or even look at family pictures on Facebook.
