Start off 2013 with this great offer from Dots Diner

It’s a new year and I think I’ve had enough black-eyed peas and cabbage to cover me through all of 2013 (maybe the decade). They supposedly bring you good fortune and good luck. So, just in case, I’m going to keep up that tradition.

I was talking to a few friends about their New Year’s traditions including one about eating 12 grapes at midnight and finishing them before 12:01 am. This supposedly started in Spain & Portugal and probably has something to do with their great wines and grape harvest. One of my dear friends said she read something about cakes being lucky…including a fried dough cake with powdered sugar; some people even hide a trinket inside the cake – sounds like a beignet with a king cake baby in it to me. I hope you didn’t eat any lobster on New Year’s Day. Supposedly they are bad luck because they move backwards and you’ll see a year of setbacks. I’m not sure about that one, but I can do without lobster for a day.

With the New Year’s hoopla, people are setting resolutions and looking for ways to improve themselves. I have an idea for a resolution that will improve your life – follow me on Twitter & Facebook. You can stay informed with our specials and my musings. You know more Dots Diner in your life will definitely improve your year.

Here’s to 2013 – a year of prosper, good fortune, and the quick return of Coach Sean Payton!
