Well it is mid–July now, which means it’s midsummer and it definitely feels like it outside. Is it too much to ask for a few more rain showers to cool this place off? I thought my kitchens got hot–but it’s a real scorcher out there. I like to cool off with a big glass of sweet tea. How do you do it? Keep it clean though.
With this summer in full swing already, it gets me thinking of August which means the kids are heading back to school. There’s Saints preseason and of course our Anniversary. (You didn’t forget did you?) I can’t believe it’s been 16 years already. My little Nicky was just a toddler when I opened up and he’s now driving and going to graduate high school soon. It’s just amazing how time flies when you’re cooking up all this goodness. I love seeing my customers grow before my eyes and I can’t believe one day soon a bunch of those little kids will be bringing in their own kids.
I’m not quite ready to divulge all of my anniversary secrets–you’ll have to wait until my next email on July 30th for the full details, but I will tell you that I have August 3rd, 11th, 12th, and 30th circled on my calendar (that’s for .96 short stacks, root beer floats, apple pie, and bacon respectively). I guess the nuns, back in the day, taught me right; I know the difference between respectively and respectfully. So get ready cause it all starts Wednesday, August 1 at 12:01am. I’ll probably let you slide if you come in at 11:45 the night before since I’m such a push over.
